TradingView has no single "reset account" button, but there are several genuine ways to get a clean slate depending on what's bothering you. This guide covers the account-level tools that matter in practice: clearing chart clutter like layouts and watchlists, resetting your Paper Trading balance, getting a new password, and what to do when you're locked out and need real account recovery.
01Decide what you want cleared
TradingView splits settings into separate systems instead of one master account. Chart layouts, watchlists, and Paper Trading balances each reset from their own menu, and none of them touch your login, subscription, or saved scripts.
A cluttered chart, a stale watchlist, and a locked-out login are three different problems with three different fixes. Name which one you have before hunting for a reset switch.
02Open the account menu for session-level options
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner. The menu drops down with Settings and billing, Refer a friend, Partner program, Help Center, a dark theme toggle, a language selector, and Sign Out at the bottom. Signing out and back in clears your active session; Settings and billing is where profile and subscription details live if something there needs correcting.
03Reset a chart layout, and clear the watchlist separately
For chart clutter, not an account problem, open the layout menu next to the chart's tab name and reset or start a fresh layout; this strips indicators, drawings, and custom scales without touching your account or watchlists. To keep the layout but drop just the drawings, most drawing tools clear individually from the trash icon in the left toolbar. The watchlist panel on the right holds symbols added over time, organized into sections like Indices, Stocks, Futures, and Crypto; right-click a symbol or section name to remove entries or clear a whole section without affecting the chart itself.
04Reset your Paper Trading balance
If your simulated balance has drifted from where you want to practice, the Paper Trading panel includes a reset option that restores the default starting amount. This only affects the simulated account, never a connected live broker balance, so it's safe to use whenever you want a clean run at a strategy.
05Reset your password if you can still access your email or phone
From the sign-in dialog, click "I forgot password or can't sign in" and enter the username, email, or verified phone number on the account. TradingView sends a recovery message to whichever one you have access to. This works from a browser; account recovery of any kind isn't available inside the mobile apps.
06Use Account Recovery if you've lost access to both
When you can't reach the email or phone on the account, TradingView's Account Recovery form is the actual path back in. It asks for username, full name, the email on the account, an alternative email, phone number, and issue type, and for a billing dispute specifically, payment method, the last four digits of the card, and a transaction ID.
Beyond that, it asks for a document proving account ownership and a selfie holding an ID with your face and name both visible, uploaded through the form. The form also warns not to create a new account while a request is pending, since that can complicate verifying you're the rightful owner of the old one.
When it doesn't work
The password reset email or SMS never arrives
Why: The email or phone number on file is outdated, or the message landed in spam.
Fix: Check spam first. If neither the email nor the phone number is reachable anymore, use the Account Recovery form instead of retrying the same reset.
Account Recovery is asking for a selfie and ID photo
Why: This step only appears when you've lost access to both the email and phone linked to the account, since TradingView has no other way to confirm you're the owner.
Fix: Take the photo as instructed, face and document name both clearly visible, and upload it through the form. There's no way to skip this step for a full recovery.

Can I fully reset a TradingView account in one click?

Will resetting my chart layout delete my saved indicators?
