Save the configuration, and Shopify will attempt to validate the connection against Skrill's servers immediately — if the IP whitelist step was skipped or entered incorrectly, this is usually where you'll see the connection error rather than later at checkout.

Before relying on Skrill for real orders, confirm your Skrill business account is fully verified — an unverified or partially verified account can accept the connection but still decline live transactions. Use Shopify's test mode if the Skrill integration supports it, or place a genuine small-value order yourself and complete it with Skrill selected at checkout, watching for the payment to appear correctly in both your Shopify order list and your Skrill account balance.

If checkout with Skrill fails, the fault almost always traces back to one of three things: an IP address missing from the whitelist, a mismatched secret word between the two platforms, or an unverified Skrill account. Double-check each one in order, since Skrill's error messages are often generic rather than pointing at the exact field that's wrong.
