Buying a domain on Namecheap and building a site on Wix means those two platforms have to be told to talk to each other, and the usual way to do that is by pointing Namecheap's nameservers at Wix's. 02Open your Wix site dashboard

05Update the nameservers in Namecheap
Log into Namecheap, open Domain List from the left sidebar, and click Manage next to the domain you're connecting. Under the Domain tab, find the Nameservers section and use the dropdown to switch it from the default option to Custom DNS.
Enter the two Wix nameservers from the wizard exactly as copied, one per line, then confirm with the green checkmark. No trailing spaces, no extra entries.
06Confirm back in Wix and wait for propagation
Return to the Wix wizard and click "I've replaced my nameservers" so Wix starts checking in the background; it can't verify the change instantly since it has to propagate first. Namecheap states changes typically take 24 to 48 hours to fully take effect, matching what Wix tells you to expect.
Check the domain's status in Wix Settings periodically; it isn't broken just because it isn't instant. If it's still unconnected after two days, compare the nameservers in Namecheap against Wix's values character for character; a stray space or a leftover default entry is the usual cause.
When it doesn't work
The domain connection option isn't available in Wix
Why: The site is still on Wix's free plan, and connecting an external domain requires a paid Premium plan.
