How to Change Payment Plan Google Workspace to Annual Plan 2026 Easily

Sign in to admin.google.com with an account that has billing permissions, then open Billing from the left-hand menu. Expanding it reveals Subscriptions, Payment accounts, and Buy or upgrade as sub-items. The main Billing card on the Admin console home also gives you a shortcut version of the same links, showing the date your paid service started and quick access to Manage subscriptions without digging through the sidebar.

Click into Subscriptions, then select your active plan — for example, Google Workspace Business Plus — to open its details page. Under Plan details, you'll see your current Payment plan labeled Flexible plan, along with your licence count and estimated monthly bill. Right next to that label is a Change payment plan link; this is the exact control that switches you between flexible (monthly) and annual (committed) billing, and it's easy to miss since it's styled as plain text rather than a button.

Clicking Change payment plan brings up both options side by side: the flexible plan lets you add or remove licences and cancel at any time with no long-term commitment, while the annual plan locks in a lower per-user rate in exchange for a 12-month commitment on however many licences you select. If your team size is stable and unlikely to shrink significantly over the next year, the annual plan is almost always the better deal — Google typically prices it noticeably below the equivalent 12 months of flexible billing.

Choose the annual plan and confirm the licence count you're committing to — this usually defaults to your current number of assigned users, but double-check it before continuing, since committing to more licences than you need means paying for seats nobody's using. Google will show updated terms referencing your existing Workspace agreement and any applicable free-trial conditions, confirming the new commitment supersedes your previous flexible arrangement.

Review the final terms and click Checkout to finalize the change. This step submits the plan switch immediately — there's no separate confirmation email you need to click through — so make sure the licence count and plan type are correct before pressing it. Once submitted, your subscription updates to reflect the annual commitment right away.

Head back to Subscriptions and open your plan again — Payment plan should now read Annual plan instead of Flexible plan, and the estimated bill and next billing date will reflect the new schedule. If you have multiple users on the subscription, the annual rate applies to all of them collectively under the same licence count you committed to, so any new users added later are billed at the annual rate too, prorated for the remainder of the term rather than starting a separate monthly cycle.
