Click the My eBay dropdown in the top navigation and you'll see your account split into two halves: buying-side items like Watchlist, Purchase History, and Buy Again toward the top, and Selling listed further down alongside Saved Feed, Saved Searches, and Saved Sellers. For a fixed-price item with no offers pending, select it from Active and choose the option to end the listing, then pick your reason from the list. This removes it from search immediately — buyers browsing your store afterward won't see it, though anyone with the direct link may still reach a now-inactive page.

Auctions are more restrictive to end early, especially once bids have come in — eBay requires a valid reason before it lets you cancel a live auction, since doing so affects whoever has already bid. If the auction is close to ending or has multiple bids, expect eBay to be stricter about approving the cancellation than it would be for a fixed-price listing nobody has acted on yet.

If a buyer has already purchased the item, ending the listing isn't the right tool — you need the order cancellation flow instead, which is a separate process from ending an active listing. The buyer gets notified as part of that cancellation, and depending on the timing and reason, you may still be assessed a final value fee even though the sale didn't go through, so it's worth reviewing your seller dashboard afterward to confirm the outcome.
