By Impran M N
Collecting card payments from clients doesn't have to mean juggling a separate terminal and manually re-entering totals. This guide covers using QuickBooks Online's built-in Receive Payment form with Intuit Payments to charge a card directly and automatically track processing fees. It's for business owners who want customer payments and their books to stay in sync.
01Open the Receive Payment form
Click + New, then choose Receive Payment under the Customers column.
02Select the customer and invoice
Choose the client from the dropdown and check the box next to the specific open invoice you're settling.
03Choose Credit Card as the method
Set the payment method to Credit Card, then click Enter Card Details to open the secure card entry form.
04Enter the card details
Type in the card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing zip code, and optionally keep the card on file if you have client authorization for recurring billing.
05Process the charge and send a receipt
Click Process Card, wait for authorization, then Save and Send to email the customer a payment receipt.
