By Impran M N

A double-posted or incorrect journal entry can throw off your general ledger if left uncorrected. This guide shows how to locate, review, and delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online, plus how to verify the change afterward.

01Locate the entry

Go to Transactions, then Chart of Accounts, open the relevant register, or use Search and filter by Journal Entries.

02Open the transaction

Click the journal entry row to expand the details, then click Edit to open the original form.

03Review the debit and credit lines

Audit all balancing lines to confirm this is the entry you actually want to remove.

04Execute the deletion

Open the More options drawer at the bottom and select Delete.

05Confirm and verify

Click Yes on the confirmation prompt, then check the Audit Log or your general ledger to confirm the row is gone and balances recalculated.
